Expert Karate Instruction
At Nashville Shotokan Karate School, we focus on both physical and psychological development to help each student become a respected and successful individual.
The Chief-Instructor of the club is Dr. Nataliya Pidkovka, a biomedical scientist and an experienced educator. Sensei Nataliya started practicing karate in Ukraine 1993. Her black belt degrees were certified by Sensej Hirokazu Kanazawa (Shotokan Karate-do International Federation), Sensej Teruyuki Okazaki (International Shotokan Karate Federation/Japan Karate Association) and examination panel of Hombu Dojo Karate International organization (HDKI). Throughout her athletic and coaching career, Nataliya and her team have successfully competed at the national and international level karate tournaments. Nataliya started and a Karate Club at Lviv National Medical University in Ukraine in 2000s, then in Nashville in 2018 with the help of her daughter.
Our Philosophy
- Empowering students of all ages and fitness levels. The credo of the Nashville Shotokan Karate club is that Karate-do can be learned by anyone regardless of age or level of physical fitness. There is room for everyone!
- Our Dojo is particularly multicultural; adults and kids have joined from all over the World and multiple languages are spoken in our Dojo!
- A friendly and open-minded atmosphere is the priority in our traditional Karate-do Dojo. Everybody is always welcomed and appreciated!
